INTERCHANGEABLE HANDLES
In 2024, all our wings are fitted with our new interchangeable handle system. Whether you’re looking for a light and comfortable setup with soft handles, a more direct and aggressive ride with hard handles or something in between with our innovative hybrid handles, we’ve got you covered.
Wings come with soft handles pre-installed, but swapping a handle set between wings is quick and easy thanks to our screwless setup.
Soft handles: A classic on our wings, our grippy, ergonomic and super comfortable handles allow for some flexibility so your wrist is always in line with your arm. Attached to the wing’s webbing by a Velcro system, these handles benefit from a light yet firm construction that doesn’t include any hard parts.
Hybrid handles: An F-ONE innovation, these are soft handles that are connected to the wing’s webbing by a hard base. It will lead to a more direct feel in your hands for more performance and control, while still fully benefiting from the comfort and grip of the soft handles.
Hard handles: Offering more efficient pumping and a more direct feedback, these hard handles are ideal for riders seeking control and precision.
Boom: For those who need maximal freedom, the boom lets you position your hands completely freely. It’s the perfect option for freestyle.
Tech specs
The STRIKE's design has undergone a comprehensive overhaul. The central strut is now perfectly straight, enhancing our ability to manage its deformation and potential twisting, thereby minimizing drag. This adjustment results in a slightly lower infill that deforms less, extending almost to the wing's rear. We've optimized our Load Diffuser, reducing its size for weight savings, particularly beneficial during freefly maneuvers. The addition of a dihedral angle enhances stability and keeps the wingtips above water during pumping and riding.
Innovations in leading and trailing edge tensions, alongside a refined radial cut, ensure the wing's profile remains smooth and stable, leading to outstanding performance and control. The meticulous panel layout and precise load management, complemented by staggered seams, deliver exceptional profile control, particularly at higher speeds. The strategic use of HITEX in the inflatable structure and TECHNOFORCE™/D2 in the canopy provides superior resistance to elongation, thus increasing durability and performance. Material distribution is carefully considered to accommodate varying tensions, pressures, and weight distribution across different areas.
Small radial cuts on the wingtips and strut back distribute tensions effectively. Aligning fibers precisely along load paths allows for unprecedented control of stretch. Our Load Diffuser, positioned on the strut's back and composed of overlapping Mylar and Dacron panels, maintains a sleek and efficient profile, ensuring optimal stability, performance, and longevity.
Thanks to these advancements in Sail Engineering and design, the new STRIKE strikes the perfect balance between performance, control, and smooth handling. It offers enough stiffness for any rider to perform confidently while remaining progressive, delivering smooth and rapid forward traction.
