With Kitesurf Boards, riders have the freedom to explore their style, progress their skills, and enjoy kiteboarding across all conditions.
Twin Tip: The most common style — rides both ways, great for beginners, freeride and freestyle. Most people learn on one of these.
Directional (Surfboard): For wave riding or strapless freestyle, ridden one way like a surfboard.
Foil Board: Uses a hydrofoil underneath for lift and speed, allowing you to ride above the surface.
Freeride: all-round boards that do everything well — ideal for most riders.
Freestyle: stiffer boards with more pop and grip for jumps and tricks.
Lightwind: larger, flatter boards designed to plane quickly and ride efficiently in lighter breeze.
A Twintip is the most versatile board catering for all levels of ability and handling most conditions. If you want specific performance in one area then choosing something designed for that area is the best choice – i.e. a surfboard will ride waves better than anything else.
You have a few options if you are already riding a twintip.
Lightwind specific boards are longer and wider and therefore require less wind to get going.
Surfboard’s have more volume and are longer than a twintip so will reduce the amount of wind need to get going.
Foilboards will open up the low end wind range massively by reducing drag you can get going as long as you can keep the kite in the air.
