At King of Watersports, we’ve seen trends come and go over more than 20 years in the industry. New kites, new foils, new disciplines — they all arrive with excitement, but very few products genuinely change how people want to ride. The Ozone Pocket Rocket V2 is one of those rare exceptions.

We’ve placed multiple restocking orders this season and every time stock arrives, it goes almost immediately. The demand is some of the strongest we’ve seen in foiling for years. So what’s actually behind the hype? After spending real time on the water with the Ozone Pocket Rocket V2, here’s what we found.

What Is The Ozone Pocket Rocket V2?

The Pocket Rocket V2 is Ozone’s latest generation parawing and builds upon the success of the original V1 introduced in early Summer 2025. The V2 takes the learnings from both the original Pocket Rocket and the later Power Pack release from late 2025, combining them into what is now topping many parawing reviews.

The key ingredients are:

• Excellent upwind performance
• Easy handling with smooth power delivery and improved low-end power
• Extra power generation through pumping
• Faster and more convenient stashing
• Increased control and a wider usable wind range

From my first time launching it on the beach, through to pumping it to get up on the foil, through to blasting upwind – collapsing and redeploying after a short downwind run I can safely say this parawing delivers all round.

More all-round control and performance across a bigger wind range is exactly what most parawing’s needed and the Pocket Rocket V2 delivers just that.

Why Are So Many Wing Foilers Switching To Parawings?

Wing foiling has exploded over the last few years and many riders have now reached a very high level. Once you’ve mastered riding powered, carving swell and linking bumps, the next question becomes how to feel even more connected to the ocean.

That’s where parawings come in. The ability to ride upwind, pack the wing away and surf open swell completely unpowered opens up an entirely new style of riding. Many riders who initially viewed parawings as a niche product are now discovering just how addictive they can be. For many experienced wing foilers, it feels like the next natural progression. The fun of learning is another reason people are getting into it. Most people cannot simply jump on a parawing and do it all, it’s providing a great learning experience for a lot of wingfoilers.

Looking back to early 2025, parawings had started gaining momentum and there were several versions available. Most of them worked, but many were tricky to fly and had a limited wind range. The riders who jumped straight into parawing foiling game were not immediately rewarded in the same way they were with wing foiling, and the growth of the sport slowed during the Summer.

Late 2025 and into 2026 brought several genuinely good parawing options and, paired with the growth of mid-length boards (check out our blog on those here), the sport started gaining serious traction. Longer, narrower boards and more stable parawings gave easier take-offs and larger wind range per size which resulted in more conditions that were parawing friendly.

Blasting upwind on a parawing, packing it away and then gliding back downwind is now completely achievable for far more riders than it was a year ago. Stability when either under powered or over powered is much more manageable, although not at the same level as a wingfoil wing, you can now make the most of all conditions.

This is one of the biggest reasons we’re seeing such strong demand for the Pocket Rocket V2. What’s New On The Ozone Pocket Rocket V2?

Ozone didn’t simply tweak a few details with the V2. The Pocket Rocket V2 features a completely revised design, including a new profile, updated aspect ratio, improved canopy tension and a shorter bridle system. These changes work together to deliver smoother power, easier handling and stronger overall performance.

One of the first things riders notice is the improved low-end power. The revised design generates more pull in lighter winds, the ability to generate power through pumping, which enable riders get onto the foil earlier and more easily. Even in lighter winds, the Pocket Rocket V2 remains easy to fly and when overpowered you can still sheet out enough to maintain control.

The V2 also improves on the already impressive upwind performance of the original Pocket Rocket. Updated canopy shaping and improved canopy support create a cleaner and more efficient wing profile, helping riders angle upwind with less effort. The higher speeds you can achieve at these tighter angles allow riders to get well upwind efficiently especially with the use of a harness.

Perhaps the most impressive improvement is how forgiving the wing feels. The sweet spot is larger, the power delivery is smoother and the wing is less sensitive to small handling mistakes. This makes progression significantly easier for riders moving into parawing foiling for the first time.

The Bow Bar and front line configuration, taken from the Power Pack, also allow for simpler and more effective collapsing of the wing. Even if you are not fully stowing the wing away, it feels more manageable with less chance of major tangles and more success when redeploying. Taking the centre line off the bar itself and raising it above also improves comfort and control when riding across the wind, giving your hands more space to move naturally where they need to be.

Why We Think The Pocket Rocket V2 Stands Out

The simple answer is that Ozone knows how to build wings. Their background in paragliding, foil kites and aerodynamic design is obvious in the way the Pocket Rocket V2 performs on the water.

The wing feels refined and genuinely polished. Not “good for a first attempt” or “interesting but still developing”, but like a product that has been carefully developed specifically for this style of riding.

The v2 Pocket Rocket allows riders to do what they have seen on social media without the need to be a parawing ninja. After a handful of sessions in reasonable conditions a decent wingfoiler can be parawinging upwind, collapsing the parawing and getting some decent glides back downwind and starting to redeploy the parawing.

From our experience watching people learn over the last year, the Pocket Rocket V2 gives new parawingers more success earlier compared to most parawings from 2025.

The key points that make this a top contender are:

• Stability – The parawings stability makes it intuitive  to fly and allows for control through the wind range for anyone size. In light winds you aren’t fighting to keep it in the air but you can concentrate on trimming the board and pumping to get going. In strong winds the wing is stable even when full sheeted out flying just off the front lines.
• Clean Bar – The Bow Bar from the Power Pack works really well and with the middle lines raised it means you can put your hands and harness line where ever you want. In really over powered conditions when flying the parawing mainly off the front lines it could do with the bar extending in front of the front A lines so you have more to hold onto.
• Effective Collapsing – The Y split in the front lines is a simple, obvious and effective place to help collapse the wing and brings the leading edge ribs together effectively.  Pair this with the shorter lines than the v1 and collapsing the parawing is easier and cleaner.
• Direct Steering – Twisting the bar steers the wing and the PRv2 steers quickly and effectively.
• Larger Wind Range – Larger wind ranges is what parawings needed. The ability to fly the parawing in lighter winds and still have control when over powered means less time being on the wrong size parawing.
