Slingshot One Lock System – Secure, Simple, Smart
Slingshot has unveiled its innovative One-Lock System, a ground-breaking development in hydrofoil technology designed to simplify assembly and enhance performance for water sports enthusiasts. Departing from traditional bolt-based connections, the One-Lock System employs a tool-free mechanism that streamlines setup and maintenance.
What is One-Lock?
One-Lock is designed for simplicity, featuring just three components (mast, front wing & stabiliser) for an easy and efficient setup. The Latch and Intra-Locking system allows for quick assembly while maintaining a secure and rigid connection.

Instead of screws, the system relies on high-tension force and Dyneema line, reducing common issues associated with traditional screw-based hydrofoil setups.

Built with strong and durable materials, One-Lock™ provides a stiff and reliable platform. Its screw-free design simplifies the setup process, making it a practical alternative to conventional hydrofoil connections.

Key Features of the One-Lock System
- Tool-Free Assembly: The One-Lock System eliminates the need for screws and tools, allowing for quick and effortless assembly and disassembly. This design not only saves time but also reduces the risk of losing small parts during setup.
- Streamlined Performance: By doing away with the screws design focus has shifted to hydrodynamics of the whole plane. Each foil, fuselage and stabiliser now has minimal drag making the foil cut through the water more effectively.
- Enhanced Stiffness and Strength: Constructed with a carbon fuselage, the system offers improved stiffness and strength compared to aluminum counterparts. The one-piece integration of the front wing and stabilizer contributes to a more rigid and responsive ride.
- Adjustable Tensioning: Utilizing a Dyneema line for securing components, the system allows for easy tension adjustments. As the line experiences stretch over time, users can fine-tune the tension to maintain optimal performance.
Masts
Slingshot are releasing three mast options each in varying sizes that should cater to every level of riders needs no matter what discipline.
- Aluminium 52 | 62 | 72 | 82 | 92cm – Perfect for riders seeking an affordable entry into the One-Lock system. Offering excellent control and responsiveness without the higher cost of carbon. Anodized 6061 grade aluminium giving the perfect balance between efficiency, stiffness and weight.
- Carbon 72 | 82 | 92cm – A step up in performance for those riders wanting more stiffness and efficiency. The hollow core and tapering chord help keep weight down and performance up.
- High Modulus Carbon 72 | 82 | 92cm – The stiffest option for the highest performance and greatest control. This promises to be one of the stiffest masts on the market and rigidity is key when it comes to responsiveness and feedback.

Masts are all provided with board mounting hardware and this is another feature to speed your life up. This system carries over from the Phantasm line-up but features new twin sided T-Locks instead of the original Flag Screws. The Rapid Track System (RTS) is made up of the following:
Anchors – Mounted to the tracks on your board allowing for quick and precise foil mounting.
Sleds – Connected to your front holes of the mast plate, these slide under the Anchors to provide a quick and precise connection to the board.
T-Locks – These secure the rear of the top plate down to the board and lock the foil into place. One screw up tight and secured to the board you can pull the T section up which then disengages the T from the screw and you are free to rotate the T to align it with the flow of water for max effiency.

Front Wings
One-Lock Ease 1250 | 1550 | 1850 | 2250 – The most user friendly front wing offering low end performance and a low stall speed these wings will ease people into foiling and give a cruisey, predicatble ride.
One-Lock Glide 725 | 925 | 1125 | 1325 – A medium aspect all round performance foil with exceptional glide. With a medium-high camber profile the wings these wings give great low end lift for their size allowing riders to size down more than normal and gain more agility from using a smaller front wing.
One-Lock Kite 755 | 855 | 1255 – Three distinct sizes to cover a range of needs and abilities. From entry level riders and light wind cruising (1255) through to Fred Hope level skills (755) and everything in between (855) each wing is designed to maximise performance.

Stabilisers
Three choices of Monobloc stabilisers with performance catered to each size this rear half of of the foil locks into the front wing through the mast foot.
One-Lock Verse 270 – Stable and forgiving with a negative angle of attack that provides consistent lift even at lower speeds. The aim with this stabiliser is to inspire confidence.
One-Lock Carve 200 – With a minimal angle of attack the Carve stabiliser loosens up any foil and unlocks its speed so you can push speeds without increased front foot pressure. Its narrow span increases the roll ability of any foil allowing for tighter carves.
One-Lock Turbo Tail 180 – A all round performer, the Turbo Tail increases glide without sacrificing manoeuvrability. Nimble and predictable this stabiliser helps you push with confidence.

Durability
Its always a concern when a new system comes in but Slingshot have been testing and trying to break the foils for a while now. Fred Hope released a video placing sand between the front wing and stabiliser whilst setting up and then foil looked rock solid. The Dyneema that locks the foil together will stretch but they have built in an adjustable latch so as the Dyneema does give you can retighten and replacement latches come with the foil and are available as spares.
The fuselage meets in the middle of the mast foot from the stabiliser and front wing and they have been designed to lock in tight and although wear may occur here the shape of them will stop any movement. The wedge shape of both pushes into the mast foot with such a force once the latch is locked into place that you can (if your brave) un-latch the stabiliser and carry on your session but don’t do that, just in case
By taking out the screws Slingshot have eliminated a source of corrosion and with the anodised masts this issue will now be a thing of the past.
Conclusion
With the One-Lock System, Slingshot has redefined how hydrofoils are built, eliminating past issues and setting a new standard for efficiency, ease of use, and performance. Whether you’re new to foiling or a seasoned rider, this system offers a fresh approach that enhances every session on the water. Expect to see more in the lineup, but for now, the One-Lock System is a game-changer—delivering simplicity, strength, and a whole lot of fun.
