LIGHT WIND / FREERIDE
When it comes to light wind, size matters – and the Drive Aluula is built around that idea. Its 3-strut design allows for a genuinely big wing with a comparatively short wingspan, which means more usable power without the handling penalty you’d expect from something this size. A hybrid ALUULA Gold and ALUULA Aeris leading edge keeps the whole thing featherlight and rigid, so even at 9.0m2 it feels manageable rather than like wrestling a kite.
The compact outline and increased dihedral keep the wingtips clear of the water while you ride, and a high-lift profile puts the power up front, right where you need it for an easy, early take-off – whether you’re pumping actively or just letting the wing do the work passively in a breeze. Once you’re up, the ultra-stiff ALUULA airframe transmits every input directly, so power delivery feels instant and precise rather than vague. Two side struts add stability that keeps the profile locked in as the wind builds, so you’re not racing back to the beach the moment it picks up.
The fixed, egg-shaped rigid handles are thinner and lighter than earlier ENSIS designs, with rounded corners that are comfortable across long sessions, and the window placement is sized generously – important when you’re flying a wing this large. Available in 7.0, 8.0 and 9.0m2, the Drive Aluula is built for intermediate to expert riders, heavier riders, or anyone chasing maximum time on the water on marginal-wind days.
