LIGHT WIND / FREERIDE
Why wait for wind when you can already be flying? The Drive is ENSIS’s high-performance light wind boom wing, built with a hybrid Dacron leading edge that keeps it remarkably light while the 3-strut construction stabilises the canopy for efficient, consistent power delivery – no vague, floppy feeling even at these bigger sizes.
The compact design and high-lift profile mean early take-off even in genuinely minimal wind, and the boom set-up gives you complete freedom for intuitive hand placement and seamless transitions – including confident one-handed riding when you need a hand free. The hybrid leading edge construction, with stiffer Dacron through the centre and lighter Dacron at the wingtips, cuts swing weight noticeably, which matters a lot when you’re holding a 7 or 8m2 wing overhead for a full session.
The boxy shape and increased arc angle keep the wingtips clear of the water even at these larger sizes, and two side struts keep the profile locked in and stable as the wind builds – so a session that starts in barely-there breeze doesn’t fall apart the moment it fills in. Note: the boom is sold separately. Available in 7.0 and 8.0m2, the Drive suits intermediate to expert riders after a genuinely light-wind-capable wing that doesn’t sacrifice control once conditions improve.
