Sizing basics
Choose length and width to match rider weight, wind range and style. Lighter riders or windy spots lean smaller; heavier riders or lighter winds benefit from more surface area. As a simple guide, many riders around 70–85 kg feel at home 135–139 cm for all-round use, while 85–100+ kg riders often prefer 140–144 cm. For marginal wind, move up a size or choose a lightwind model with a wider outline.

Flex, construction & feel
Softer flex smooths chop and lands gently; stiffer builds give explosive pop and precise edging for boosting. Carbon-reinforced decks feel crisp and efficient at speed, while fibreglass layups offer a forgiving ride and excellent value.

Rocker, outline & channels
Flatter rocker planes early and runs fast upwind; more rocker softens landings and helps in rough water. Squarer tips and pronounced base channels increase grip for edging and take-off; rounder tips and subtler channels roll into turns for a surfier carve.

Pads, straps & stance
Match your board with comfortable straps and pads. Start with a stance about shoulder-width and tweak ±1 cm for knees and control. Re-check bolt tightness after your first session—fresh hardware keeps everything silent and responsive.

Fins & accessories
Sharp, undamaged fins improve upwind bite and release. If you ride shallow water, consider slightly smaller fins and inspect them often.
