Foil Front Wings

The front wing is the heart of your foil setup — it creates lift and determines how early, fast and efficiently you fly. Bigger wings lift at slower speeds, while smaller, thinner wings are built for speed and control.

Choose based on your weight, experience and sport.
Larger wings (1000–2000 cm²) lift earlier and suit beginners, SUP foiling and downwind riding.
Mid-size wings (750–1000 cm²) suit intermediate riders and general wing and kite foiling.
Smaller wings (550–750 cm²) are faster and suit confident riders who prefer efficiency and control.

Aspect ratio (AR) is the ratio between a wing’s span and its width.
High aspect foils (AR 9 +) are long and thin. They are efficient and glide further.
Mid aspect foils (AR 6 – 8) balance glide and control.
Low aspect foils (AR 4 – 5) are wider and feel stable and forgiving at lower speeds.

Freeride wings are mid-aspect and feel stable and predictable.

Freestyle wings are compact and respond quickly for jumps and rotations.

Wave wings are mid-aspect and designed to turn easily and stay smooth through carves.

Downwind wings are long and efficient, built for continuous glide.

Race wings are thin and high-aspect for maximum speed.

Carving wings are rounder and turn smoothly with good control.
Glide wings are longer and thinner and keep flying with less effort, making them better for pumping and linking multiple waves.

Too much lift? Move the mast back in the tracks or use a smaller front wing.

Not enough lift? Move the mast forward or use a larger wing.
Small changes in mast position make a big difference.

Change stabiliser. Smaller will loosen up a foil and unlock more speed. Bigger with more shape will give more stability and control.

Once you’re comfortable, stepping down to a smaller foil will give more performance. Depending on your desired style of riding there will be a foil to move to. By going smaller you will unlock more speed. Higher aspect will unlock more glide. Mid aspect tends to be the happy medium of glide and manoeuvrability.
