NEW! EXOTEX® 2 LEADING EDGE
STRONGER MATERIAL. STIFFER AIR FRAME
We're proud to release our brand new Exotex 2 leading edge that's stiffer, lighter and yet also 80% more tear resistant. Exotex 2 is a considered and progressive evolution of polyester weaves through both the warp and weft. Through every inch of the Nexus 3's air frame you'll find the use of ultra-strong yarns and the entire structure is now stiffer, more tightly woven and then finally treated with a unique heating and shrinking process.
NEW! CORETEX® 2 CANOPY
MORE STABILITY AND DURABILITY
Combined with our highly refined CoreTex 2 canopy cloth, we've accelerated the development of light weight performance and dynamic handling as well as improving the core strength of the Nexus 3. The marginally lighter canopy fabric features massively improved tear resistance, stiffness and durability. A new coating process aids stability in higher winds and jumps. CoreTex 2 sets the standard in breaking strength, tear resistance, longevity, UV protection, and elongation. Feel the tight, crisp signature feel that only a CoreTex kite delivers.
EXOTEX® LIGHT STRUTS
LIGHTER YET MORE ROBUST
The ExoTex Light dacron incorporates a radial thread pattern and emulsion (protective coating) process that reduces mass by approximately 10%. While the new ultra resistant ExoTex 2 is used for the leading edge, the ExoTex Light struts improve the Nexus 3’s drifting and turning speed – important attributes for freestylers and wave riders.
3 STRUT LIGHT FRAME
PLAYFULLY LIGHT
Three struts just turn better. Fewer struts allow the kite to twist more effectively, which improves wave performance and kiteloops. Additional weight savings are achieved with the new ExoTex® 2. Our lighter dacron really helps the kite drift effortlessly in waves.
FUTURE C SHAPE
SPEED AND PRECISION
The Nexus 3 relies on our proven Future-C shape. The moderate aspect ratio shape delivers smooth and controllable turns with an unmistakable “on-center” feel. Try a Future-C kite and you’ll never go back.
CIT MODES
YOUR NEXUS -YOUR PREFERENCES
Choose your character by selecting your favorite no-snag CIT modes on the leading edge bridle connection points. The Freestyle mode increases your turn radius, stabilizes the kite for easier freestyle moves and provides a little extra grunt. In Wave mode, the kite turns faster, increases depower and doesn’t pull you off your strapless board. The kite comes out of the bag in Allround mode which provides excellent depower, grunt and hangtime.
Finish your personalization by adjusting the steering line connection points to set turning speed and bar pressure. But don’t worry, the kite comes ready to fly in the most common settings.
SURF PROFILE
STABLE DRIFTING AND HIGH TURNING SPEED
The maximum camber is shifted further back and the aspect ratio is lowered (that means it’s a little fatter across the middle of the kite) to improve drifting. Give it gas and the Nexus comes alive! The surf profile also improves wave riding in onshore winds as this wing shape loves to go upwind and not backstall when riding the wave.
INSTANT RELAUNCH
DON'T BE LEFT IN THE LURCH
A quick relaunch is critical when you have a menacing wave that is about to eat your kite. The refined tips help the Nexus 3 find its relaunch position in a jiffy. Wave riders will appreciate how well the kite releases from the water with a quick tug, especially when time is of the essence. Foilers will appreciate the kite’s improved reverse launching ability.
RADICAL REACTION TIPS
FOR CATLIKE REFLEXES ON MONSTERS
The Nexus’ tip geometry has been optimized for wave performance. The leading edge profile provides confidence-inspiring reflexes, agility and directional control during kiteloops. Slightly widened tips improve the Nexus 3’s reaction, agility and relaunching.
GRINTEX® PATCHES
CORE TOUGH LEADING EDGE
Anti-wear patches where you need them most. Extreme abrasion resistant patches on leading edge segment seams and strut tips give another level of protection from perfectly placed beach hazards.
PEED PUMP SYSTEM + SPEED VALVE 2
AIR MANAGER WITH MAXIMUM AIRFLOW
No special hose adapter needed here! The Speed Valve 2 connects directly to any standard twist lock pump hose. The Speed Valve 2 maximizes airflow, minimizes inflation times and noticeably reduces pump effort. The air distribution system works very effectively thanks to optimal access points to the struts. This inflation/deflation system is so good you can leave your electric pump at home.
