Airush Wave Kitesurfing Kite 2014
The Wave has been extremely successful in its first year, with a massive following of dedicated surf riders.
Sizes: 5m, 6m, 7m, 9m, 12m
Wave and fast freeride
The Wave has the most unique shape on the market, with a thin LE for immense forward speed as well as a lightweight 3 strut design for drifting capabilities. The kite responds to what you need when you need it the most.
Adjustments in the wingtips and canopy layout make for a smooth power delivery. Fluid steering makes for a consistent feel across the range. The new sizes offer increased options for higher wind riding.
For the most dedicated and natural surf kite on the market, the Airush Wave ticks all the boxes.
The Wave works best with the Smartbar 5 or Analog Bar.
*Wave Specific Design *Airush Bulletproof Construction *Drift Stability *Smooth Turning *Tunable bar throw and bar pressure options *V3 bridle system *FBI (Fast Bladder Inflation) with anti-kink tubing *Double Rip Stop Canopy
*Large surface area in the wingtip enabled us to develop a kite that steers quickly, while the SL-C shape and reduced LE diameter ensure smooth power delivery and allows the kite to fly forward in the window, enhancing unhooked performance. *Drift stability is enhanced through the low aspect ratio, combined with the SLC shape. *Unique planform allows the kite to fly forward in the window while sitting back and drifting in the turns.
*Ideal for Dedicated Wave Riders or riders interested in pursuing Wave Riding
Aramid Load Frame With the overwhelming positive response of the Aramid Load Frame being used in the Razor and Wave. Airush has decided to implement the same concept of structural integrity and performance into the Lithium and Varial X with the all new Poly Load Frame. Durable Polyester Fibers are used just like Aramid, strategically placed along the kite to give a more solid connection and prevent stretching throughout the canopy. This proven technique is one of a kind and only used with Airush kites.
Hardcore Construction All Airush kites feature the Hardcore Construction, a focus and commitment to structural integrity. *This includes a 4 piece strut with bomb proof double sandwich centre seam to reduce the amount of stitching points for reduce wear as well as increased rigidity. *A Leading Edge connection seam with a slick 19mm soft webbing reinforcement to handle harder crashes. *Increased mark cloth sections at the front of all canopy seams at the leading edge to stop stitching and seam wear points.
V3 Bridle System Featured on all the 2014 Airush Kites, with the exception of the Razor Team and DNA, the V3 Bridle System adds not only to the safety benefits, but also contributes significantly to the feeling and performance of the kites. The positioning of the bridle attachment points on the LE of the kite, combined with the V pulleys, gives a very smooth and responsive de-power. This allows for steering that is light, but direct enough to feel where your kite is while riding. This also enables the kite to be steered and controlled when the kite is completely de-powered which is ideal for wave riding.
SL-c The Supported Leading Edge C-Kite, or SL-C, is dedicated to riders who want the most out of a 4-line. The SL-C concept gives a C-Shape arc, which delivers great turning and direct response in combination with Support Leading edge range and relaunching.
TIPS & TUNING The Wave is really versatile for any type of surf riders style. Simple changes in your back lines will customize the Airush Wave to suit yourself. Play around with it but here are some of my personal favorites when I designed the Airush Wave. If you like to unhook often and let your kite drift, tie a knot lower on your back pigtails (ie making your back lines slightly longer). This will reduce the back line tension causing the kite to be balanced when unhooked. If you like to ride hooked in and turn your kite constantly when you ride waves, make a knot even above the standard one on the pigtail, to increase your steering speed. I personally recommend to avoid the bar all the way in when riding otherwise the kite will “choke”.
