PREMIUM FREERIDE

The progressive flex curve is achieved through a combination of the tapered ABS rail and a refined deck profile, working in conjunction with the bio-tech core. Precision CNC manufacture, enabled us to develop the independent flex-tips, which are enhanced by the Carbon Torsion Control and offer a unique responsiveness for an intermediate flex board.

The three-stage rocker and outline perform in synergy, to offer a combination of upwind performance and comfort at faster speeds. The result is the smoothest of rides with absolute refinement.

Key Features

*Dynamic All – Round performance *New three stage outline *Unique Carbon Torsion Control and independent flextips.

Target User Freeride kiter looking for versatility and ease of use.

Rails Square ABS rail for durability and a fast clean water release.

Rocker Three stage rocker with light-wind specific rocker in the Switch Exile

Flex Intermediate flex offers good low wind performance combined with a smooth ride, with increased tip flex for high wind performance. Carbon Torsion Control and independent flextips work in conjunction with intermediate flex.

Bottom Shape Our original “Eye” concave ensures early planning, stability at speed and a softer ride in chop.

Planform CAD scaled three-stage outlines give the switch range a consistent feel in all sizes. The Switch outline features a wide center point with relatively narrower straighter tips. The width ensures ease of use and early planning while the narrower tips increase control an edging when at speed.

Fins The wake series fins offer a combination of good tracking while being forgiving when turning.

Footbed type Comes with the AFT Core foot pads and straps

Tech specs

BIO TECH CORE The Airush Multizone Biotech construction is a vertical wood core sandwich comprising of a dual density Balsa and Poplar core with ABS rail and tips. The higher density poplar stringer creates a hyper responsive center section while the outer balsa section minimizes the weight. Our wood cores are renowned for their response, durability and smoothness, and are combined with a versatile tri axial laminate for all-round performance and durability.

CARBON TORSION CONTROL Airush Carbon Torsion Control creates a unique performance advantage developed specifically for performance freeride boards. Traditionally higher flex boards, ideal for freeride, have significant torsional flex. The Carbon Torsion Control features bias oriented Carbon fiber along the heel edge, reducing the amount of torsional flex in this area. This allows you to ride the board flatter for increasing comfort and speed.

INDEPENDENT FLEX TIPS The Independent Flex Tips work in conjunction with the Carbon Torsion Control to enhance the stiffness differentiation between heel side and toe side edges. The Carbon Torsion Control stiffens the heel side edge while the independent flex tips allow the toe side edge to remain softer for carving and toeside turns.

FMS RATING Airush introduced FMS rating 4 years ago as the first brand to quantify how much a twintip flexes, instead of the good old “feel” test, which can be very deceptive due to the impact of the length on the overall stiffness. FMS takes into account the boards length and deflection and lower rating indicating a softer board. Softer boards are more suited to freeride, while stiffer boards are more suited to Freestyle.

TIPS & TUNING If in doubt on which size to ride, always take a size bigger. I would recommend the 135cm for average height (5’9) and weight (165lbs/75kg) at an intermediate skill level. When looking at AFT (footpad) positioning, if you are between 5’9” and 6’3” (180 -193cm) opt for the inserts second from the outside. Avoid a stance too wide, specifically as a beginner or intermediate. Always check with your local retailer or school about specific sizes based on your skill and local conditions..
