THE ICON OF VERSATILE PERFORMANCE

At 5 inches shorter than your regular board, the Compact fits into every section of the wave imaginable and at the same time has the stability and drive to deal with high wind and bigger wave conditions.

The vee bottom in the tail area allows for smooth rail-to-rail transitions, while the fuller nose area in the entry of the board and intermediate width, help increase planning speed over flat sections. This maintains the low end of what a rider would find in a much longer board. Its narrow tail and reduced hip give it more control in high wind, which in conjunction with the bottom shape, ensure the smoothest drive in the toughest conditions.

The Compact Flytech features a tri-fin box setup for functional everyday use, while the Compact Active is supplied standard with tri-fin and quad fin options, perfect for the discerning rider looking for increased versatility from side shore to onshore conditions.

Tech specs

ACTIVE TECHNOLOGY The Key to the Active Stringers Strength is the stiff and ultra lightweight carbon I-beam through the center of the board. This prevents the board from over flexing and damaging the laminate when flexing beyond the working range. The secret to the Active Technology flex is the high memory polypropylene layer, that allows the full bi-axial carbon skins to flex and compress within the working range. The combination gives a perfect blend of maximum flex, with maximum durability.

FLYTECH III BAMBOO The Flytech III Bamboo comprises of a dual sandwich, hi-density standing area, with a full deck bamboo sandwich. This ensures strength and lightweight in the standing area. The Bottom deck features the innovative new Bio-flex bamboo sandwich. The unique bias orientation and bamboo combination creates the most flex possible in a wood sandwich.

TIPS & TUNING The compact sizes can be misleading due to the relatively short length. The 5’9” Compact gets going as quickly as the 6’3 Converse and also has a flatter rocker. I am 85 kg’s and the 5’9” double as my one all-round surfboard and kiteboard. If you get your hands on the Compact Active, you have made a great choice, and this is secretly my favorite board. Take your time to play with the Tri fin and quad fin configurations. You may Switch them depending on the conditions or get used to a preferred setup and then right that. You can also consider getting the AR0.5 as a super loose option, this is great for full onshore conditions.
